What Current Trainees Say About Us
Anna Pal
I was the first TAD to be based in RAF Air Command in High Wycombe. My placement was within the Financial Accounting department. We did not have IPTs but smaller sections which dealt with different aspects of Finance. One of the main responsibilities of my General Ledger section was preparing the DRAc. While working, you will also be studying towards a professional qualification which will help you progress in your career. Both my placement manager and mentor are CIMA qualified and are available to help me when I come across difficulties in my studies.
The TADS scheme offers you a chance to work for an organisation that will support you ensure have up to date training so that you can progress in your career and studies. All that is asked from the scheme is your commitment.

Upon encountering the advert to join the TAD Scheme within DE&S at the Ministry of Defence it took me all of 5 seconds to decide I wanted to apply for the scheme and since then I have never looked back. My first placement was to SPCISR IPT and in my first few months I was given tremendous levels of financial responsibility to assist in delivering state of the art equipment to the Special Forces.
The scheme provides us with the opportunity to study towards the prestigious CIMA qualification and though high targets are expected, with the support of the TADS team, work colleagues and my fellow TADS the knowledge and skills that will benefit me throughout the rest of my career are highly achievable. With the combination of hard work and dedication the rewards are there to truly progress within one of the Government's most revered institutions.
Simon Webster
I obtained a Management degree from the University of Central Lancashire and then spent three years studying theology in Australia before joining the TADs scheme.
My rationale for deciding to apply for the TAD sheme was that I wanted to pursue a career where I could continue to develop my management and leadership skills. The TAD scheme through the use of work based placements and the CIMA scheme definitely provides this environment. My initial placement was with Future Logistic Integrated Services which enabled me to straight away put to use the accountancy skills that I was learning on the CIMA scheme. From helping to prepare monthly forecasts to dealing with an ever changing working environment the placement and TAD scheme provide a fast paced but well supported effective programme which as long as your committed and hard working provides a rewarding experience.
