Stage One

Stage One is a two-step online process:

1. Online Application Form
2. Online Sift Test

To complete Step 1 - the application form, click on the 'Apply Now' link below.  You will then be able to register with our secure site.  An email with your login details will be sent out shortly after you complete your registration.

You should then return to this page and click on the link again to go through to the login page where you will be able to enter your login details and be given access to the application form.

The application form can only be completed on-line and cannot be downloaded.  You can complete this form in more than one sitting - just use your login details to be taken to the place you left before.

Please ensure you have the following information available to enable you to complete the application form (if applicable):

  • National Insurance Number
  • Staff Number (if relevant)
  • Qualification grades; date obtained; awarding body
  • Previous employer contact details
  • Licences and certificate numbers (if relevant)
  • Professional Membership details (if relevant)
  • Reference contact details

To complete Step 2 - the on-line test, you must have fully completed your application form.  After you have fully completed your application form you will have the option to either continue onto the test straight away, or to login again at any time.

The on-line test is a competence-based assessment and is designed to assess your capabilities and potential.  It will consist of a series of 20 multiple choice questions based upon a given scenario and will be required to be completed within a time limit of one hour.  The test must be completed in this allocated time frame and be undertaken in one sitting, so please ensure you allow yourself sufficient uninterrupted time to do this.

You will need to have Flash installed on your computer to access the sift test - if you do not have Flash you can download it for free by clicking on this link: Macromedia Flash.

Please note that if you are trying to access the on-line test from a high security server (e.g. Government office) you may need to alter the settings on your browser to remove the restrictions preventing you from viewing the site.

Should you have any problems with your Internet connection you should close the on-line test page immediately.  The site will remember where you were and mark your place so that when you login again you will be taken to the last question you answered and be allowed to continue your test in the time remaining from your one hour limit.

Your test results will also be used as part of our short-listing process.  The Results from Stage One will be sent to you by email within 10 working days of the closing date.

The closing date for both of the steps in Stage One is Wednesday 21st May 2008.  If successful at Stage One, you will be invited to attend Stage Two, the Assessment Centre.

We are not currently accepting applications.
